Goniometer Splints


Comfy Goniometer Elbow or Knee Splints   (GE101 or GK101) treat non-fixed contractures of the elbow. Geared to increasing elbow or knee extension this orthotic works in the same way as serial casting, allowing progressive extension by gradually adjusting and re-adjusting the degrees of extension. Due to it’s patented symmetrical shape the splint is easily placed on the patient’s left or right extremity. Easily position and re-positioned in 10 degree increments with the use of an Allen wrench (which is conveniently stored in the frame of the orthotic under the cover). Available in adult or pediatric sizes.

 

Comfy Spring Loaded Goniometer Elbow or Knee Splints (SGE-101 or SGK-101) are dynamic orthoses that function like the Goniometer model with the added feature of having a spring that gently pushes the extremity to the adjusted degree of extension. The spring strength is set. For splints that allow a variable amount of force to be applied, within set ranges please see the Comfy Dynamic Torque Splints . Available in adult or pediatric sizes.

Provide Adjustable Amount of Force to Push to Extension

The Comfy Dynamic Torque Elbow or Knee allow easy, full adjustment of the amount of force pushing the joint to extension. By turning the adjustment screw, the amount of force  ( 0-33 pounds for the elbow and 0-82 pounds for the knee) can be adjusted and can be read off the scale on the orthosis. Additionally the Comfy patented Goniometer easily sets the the outer range of flexion and extension desired by adjusting the tabs.
